The upper fuel pump flange gasket prevents oil leaking out of the engine where the fuel pump flange meets the bottom of the pump. This gasket can be used with both generator and alternator style mechanical fuel pumps. It fits 40HP/1200cc to 1600cc-based engines originally used in 1961 to 1977 Standard Beetle, 1971 to 1979 Super Beetle, 1961 to 1974 Karmann Ghia, 1960 to 1971 Type 2 Bus, 1962 to 1973 Type 3 (Notchback, Squareback, Fastback), and 1973 to 1974 Thing models.
